Is it unAmerican to say that I do not want to go outside and watch fireworks? I mean, we're going to shot off a couple of bottle rockets--which suck, BTW. Whoever came up with the idea of bottle rockets needs to get slapped--and then six or so fountains. So, basically, we're looking at fifteen minutes worth of fireworks. Tops. And as for watching other people's fireworks? We're surrounded by trees. We can't see crap.

I'd rather sit inside and watch "Independence Day." Which was one of my favourite movies when I was kid. (Seriously, how can you not love movie that includes your birthday?) Plus, if I watch it while my parents are outside, I won't have to listen to my dad question everything in the movie. ("Okay, so let me get this straight. A guy who fixes cable for a living is the only one who is able to figure out what the hell is going on while the government and the militray are clueless?" "Considering the size of the mothership, don't you think that blowing it up would cause extreme changes in the atmosphere?" "It's a movie, Dad. Chill-lax.")

Or maybe I could just veg on the couch and watch Disney movies. Yeah, that sounds like an idea.
